Things We Love Giveaway!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I'm joining Kelly from An Apple for the Teacher and an amazing group of bloggers to give away some things we LOVE today!  I'm sure you love these things as much as we do!

Mr. Sketch markers are awesome for so many reasons, but mostly because they remind me of elementary school!  I had a teacher who would let us use them to check our papers and it was a big deal!  When I became a teacher, I knew I had to have a stock of Mr. Sketch markers on hand at all times.  I used them to put smelly stars on my students' papers!  They're way easier than putting stickers on papers, in my opinion.

Oh, flair pens.  I'm pretty sure my husband has a genuine concern for my love of flair pens.  I'm not in the classroom anymore, but rest assured I use these on the daily.  Grocery lists just aren't as fun without them!  And we all know they're the best thing to use in our lesson plans and calendars!

I'll be totally honest:  My Scotch laminator changed.my.life.  Seriously.  Having the ability to laminate my stuff at home vs. trying to find time to laminate at school was life-changing.  If I found a super awesome resource on TpT that I had to get ready to use the next day, voila!  I would laminate it at home.  Bonus: My kids (and my cat) are fascinated by my laminator!  Easy entertainment? Check!

Before my third year teaching, Target had dry erase pouches in the dollar spot and I grabbed two or three, thinking I might use them.  I should have grabbed a lot more!  I used them in centers almost weekly.  I almost always had a letter tracing activity popped in one of these pouches as one of my center activities.  They help save on paper usage, and I really feel like dry-erase marker erases off of these way better than things that are laminated!

Your classroom is really never complete without Expo markers.  And yes, it has to be the Expo brand!  I had these at my whiteboard, guided reading area, and even in my students' chair pockets around the guided reading table.

Astrobrights paper is really the best and most fun paper I've ever made copies with.  And yes, I used "fun" and "made copies" together in the same sentence.  That's all thanks to Astrobrights.  <3

I don't know about you, but something about the Ticonderoga pencils just gets me excited to do some writing!  When my new kinders arrived at Meet the Teacher night with their school supplies in tow, I got an extra burst of excitement when I saw that a student brought these pencils.  When my oldest heads off to kindergarten next year (*tear*), these will be sent to school for sure.

Last, but certainly not least, is a TpT gift card for a whopping $50!  When I discovered TpT during my first year teaching, it looked very different!  It quickly became such an important part of my life as a teacher.  I could spend ten hours over the weekend creating a great resource on decomposing numbers (a.k.a. time not spent with my kids and husband), or I could happily pay another teacher for their time and talent creating something that I know will work great for my students.  I am constantly amazed at the variety of new resources and ideas popping up all of the time, and my wishlist is always full!
